LURe Journal is excited to announce the 2nd annual book drive! Start off your new year by culling your shelves and donating to a good cause. All donations will support the journal in raising funds for our National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) grant.
In 2018, LURe has expanded immensely thanks to a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. This grant has even allowed us to bring on a Plenary Speaker for the UWG English & Philosophy Undergraduate Research Conference on October 11, 2018—a first in the conference’s history!
Dr. Heidi Bollinger, an assistant professor and Deputy Chair of the English department at Hostos Community College, will be opening the conference at 10:45am with a talk about loss and grief in contemporary graphic novels as well as a broader discussion on research. Everyone is encouraged to attend!
The conference will run from 10:30am to 6:00pm in the University of West Georgia’s Campus Center’s ballrooms. Light refreshments, lunch, and snacks will be available throughout the day. The conference program will be released soon.
We cannot wait to see you there!
If you missed out on LURe’s Used Book Sale (or just want to contribute more) don’t fret! There’s still more opportunities to help support the journal!
On Monday, March 19, LURe will be holding a Spirit Night hosted by American Pie Pizzeria in Carrollton, GA.
Stop by any time from 5:00 – 9:00 pm, grab some pizza, and contribute to LURe. For every voucher turned in at the cashier, 15% of the order’s proceeds will go towards LURe.
Some of LURe’s staff will be on site to distribute vouchers and answer any questions you may have!
Bring the whole family! We would love to see you!
LURe Journal will once again be hosting the University of West Georgia English & Philosophy department Undergraduate Research Conference.
The conference is approaching and we can’t wait to see everyone there!
